Dr. Sohrab Afshari, MD, FACS is a graduate of the University of Florida and served his residency in Jacksonville. He began his general surgery private practice at Memorial Hospital in 1982. Dr. Afshari has served as the Chairman of the Department of Surgery, as well as multiple terms as the Chief of General Surgery. He has been Chairman of the Cancer Program at Memorial since 1995 and is the past Florida chair of the American College of Surgeons Commission in Cancer. Dr. Afshari maintains a position on the faculty at UF. His areas of interest include cancer, laparoscopic and robotic surgeries, as well as CyberKnife.
