Jacksonville, Florida – Memorial Hospital is proud to share that it has earned Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award™ for a second year in a row which recognizes hospitals for their excellent performance in safeguarding patients from serious, potentially preventable complications during their hospital stay. Hospitals named to this list are in the top 10% in the nation for patient safety.
Patient safety measures how well a hospital prevents injuries, infections and other serious conditions based on 14 serious, potentially preventable adverse events. Healthgrades uses inpatient data from the Medicare Provider Analysis and Review (MedPAR) database and software from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) as its methodology.
Memorial Hospital Jacksonville continues to earn the 2019 Women's Care Excellence Awards recognizing hospitals that consistently deliver outstanding clinical outcomes in women's care service lines. Patients that are treated in hospitals that receive one or more of these awards have a significantly lower risk of suffering from inhospital complications than if they were treated in a hospital that did not.
Memorial's Women's Services earned a five star rating in the South Atlantic Women's Care awards in:
Labor and Delivery
- Five-Star recipient for Vaginal Delivery for five years in a row (2015-2019)
- Five-Star recipient for C-Section Delivery for two years in a row (2018-2019)
- Five-Star recipient for Gynecologic Procedures in 2019 (new)
