Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce it has elected five new members of its 2018 board of trustees.

Dianne Johnson, M.D.
Salil Patel, M.D
Jake Godbold will serve a three-year term as a member of the Board of Trustees. Goldbold, known to many as the "Peoples Mayor" because he truly loved the citizens of Jacksonville, served as the Mayor of Jacksonville from 1979-1987. During his leadership, he was instrumental in building the Southbank Riverwalk and Metro Park. He also dedicated the Prime Osborn Convention Center and worked diligently on neighborhood revitalization. Prior to serving as mayor, Goldbold served as a Jacksonville City Council member from 1966-1978.
"We are incredibly grateful to have Mr. Godbold serve as a member of our Board of Trustees," said Memorial Hospital President & CEO Bradley S. Talbert, FACHE. "Godbold is a true visionary and leader and continues to dedicate his life to making Jacksonville a great place to live, work and play."
Jackie Cornelius, the Executive Director of The Douglas Anderson School of the Arts Foundation and a National Arts Consultant, will also serve as a three-year term as a member of the Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees. Cornelius has spent many years lobbying at the state and local levels to secure funding for art school construction projects. Cornelius is passionate about community partnerships and helping to pave a pathway for young artists to excel in higher education.
Memorial Hospital has also selected three medical staff members to serve on the 2018 Board of Trustees. These physicians include Bharat Misra, M.D., Dianne Johnson, M.D. and Salil Patel, M.D., all of whom are active members of the medical staff who have also demonstrated strong leadership qualities and have shown a keen interest in Memorial Hospital's future direction.
"We are thrilled to have such a talented group of community leaders and physicians guiding the strategic direction of Memorial Hospital," said Talbert. "All of these members were selected because of their passion for advancing our mission and improving the health and lives of people in our community."

- Bradley Talbert, FACHE, Secretary/Treasurer - President & CEO, Memorial Hospital
- John Obi, M.D. - Plastic Surgeon
- Christine Sapienza, PhD - Office of Academic Affairs, Interim Provost, Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs at Jacksonville University
- Angela Martin, MD - OB/GYN
- Barbara Ann Darby, Ed.D - President, North Campus/Nassau Center of Florida State College at Jacksonville
The Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees is considered the governing body of the hospital, responsible for developing and advancing the hospital's mission, vision, values and overall strategic direction.
