Property will also serve southern Duval County residents
Memorial Hospital Jacksonville has acquired property on U.S. 1/Philips Highway as part of the hospital’s expansion of services to northern St. Johns County and southern Duval County. Memorial closed on the $3.8 million parcel of land at the end of February. Services proposed for the area include primary care and specialty medical care services via a variety of medical clinics. The expansion comes during Memorial’s 50th anniversary year of serving northeast Florida communities.
“We have an opportunity to bring the first comprehensive medical office building to northern St. Johns County to complement an addition of a planned free standing emergency center at the same location,” said Bradley S. Talbert, FACHE, President and CEO of Memorial Hospital. “Being a part of northeast Florida for the past 50 years is testament to our commitment to continue to expand and provide services to meet the demands of our growing communities.”
The four-acre property will be home to a planned Medical Office Building that will provide specialty services and physician offices with an adjacent free standing emergency center.
“We look forward to meeting the healthcare needs of our northern St. Johns and Duval county communities, providing them with access to excellent physicians and to excellent care right in their own backyards.”
Memorial is anticipating its expansion to be operational by the end of 2020.
