Vice President of Human Resources Stuart Thompson has been selected to serve as a member of the Leadership Jacksonville Class of 2019. Leadership Jacksonville is a year-long program that brings together approximately 56 leaders from throughout the community to learn about the First Coast community, to build relationships with other leaders and to better serve as a community trustee.
"I am honored and humbled to be selected to participate with such a diverse and prestigious group of community leaders," said Thompson. "Leadership Jacksonville provides a unique opportunity to participate in discussions and address important issues impacting our community."
The Leadership Jacksonville program analyzes major areas of community concern, provides opportunities for open dialogue between leaders with diverse perspectives, examines leadership styles and promotes a network of community trustees committed to the greater good. Selection is highly competitive and participants are selected based on demonstrated leadership skills, active community involvement, and a willingness to invest the time and energy required by the program.

Thompson is a Human Resources Executive with two decades of HR experience. Thompson joined the Memorial team in 2014 as Vice President of Human Resources. Prior to coming to Memorial, Thompson served as the Senior Director of Human Resources at Cleveland Clinic in South Florida. Thompson also served in HR leadership positions at Aventura Hospital, Sunrise Hospital, St. Lucie Medical Center and North Florida Regional.
Thompson has spent nearly 15 years with HCA and has a proven record for leading HR strategies that integrate the organization's overall mission of providing quality services to our caregivers and patients. Thompson earned his Bachelors of Science in Human Resources and Business Administration from the University of Florida and a Master's of Science in Healthcare Management from Troy University.
