JACKSONVILLE, FL – Memorial Hospital Jacksonville invites you to meet and name its new surgical robot and experience a hands-on test-drive of the latest in robotic technology with a 3D-HD magnified vision system of the daVinci Xi Surgical System, Tuesday, March 19 in the Memorial Hospital main entrance lobby, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The community is invited to also submit their suggestion for naming the new robot for a chance to win a Memorial Hospital gift package.
“We perform hundreds of robotic cases at Memorial each year and we anticipate our numbers will keep increasing over the coming years,” said Husain Abbas, MD, General and Bariatric Surgeon at Memorial Hospital. “Providing our community with an opportunity to name our newest robot and take a ‘test-drive’ is a huge ownership and educational opportunity.”
If you think you’ve got what it takes to be on the top of our Robotic Leader Board - prizes will be provided to the top minimally invasive Rookie Robot Surgeons who are able to complete their “surgery” using the daVinci Xi in the fastest, safest times.
About the daVinci Xi Robot
The da Vinci Xi Surgical System can be used across a spectrum of minimally invasive surgical procedures and has been optimized for multi-quadrant surgeries in the areas of gynecology, urology, thoracic, cardiac and general surgery. By enabling efficient access throughout the abdomen or chest, the da Vinci Xi System expands upon core da Vinci System features, including wristed instruments, 3D-HD visualization, intuitive motion, and an ergonomic design. As with all da Vinci Surgical Systems, the surgeon is 100% in control of the robotic-assisted da Vinci System, which translates his/her hand movements into smaller, more precise movements of tiny instruments inside the patient’s body. The Xi System’s immersive 3D-HD vision system provides surgeons a highly magnified view, virtually extending their eyes and hands into the patient.
