The cardiovascular intensive care unit (ICU) is a specialized unit designed to support patients who have experienced a serious heart problem. Patients may be admitted to the cardiac ICU if they:

  • Are diagnosed with a life-threatening cardiac arrhythmia
  • Are recovering from heart surgery
  • Require close monitoring following severe heart failure

Multidisciplinary care in our ICU

Our goal is to provide the best care possible for our patients. That's why our multidisciplinary team is specially trained in administering advanced critical care. The ICU team includes:

  • Critical care nurses and physicians
  • Dietitians
  • Physical and occupational therapists
  • Respiratory therapists
  • Speech and language therapists

ICU visitor information

Visitors are welcome at the ICU, but we ask that you adhere to the following guidelines:

  • All visitors must be 12 years old or older
  • No more than 3 visitors may be in a patient's room at a time
  • Do not use cell phones in the patient areas

Our visiting hours are:

  • 9:00am to 9:30am
  • 11:00am to 11:30am
  • 1:00pm to 1:30pm
  • 3:00pm to 3:30pm
  • 5:00pm to 5:30pm
  • 8:00pm to 8:30pm
  • 10:00pm to 10:30pm
